Find your capital — it’s the heart of your nation and the thing you least want to lose.

Take stock of your units. Every nation starts with forces already on the map — you inherited them along with the territory.

Check your cities and income — they fund everything you’ll build from here.

Scan your borders. Note which neighbours are AI-run and which answer to another commander.

Issue one order — move a single unit. Nothing teaches the game faster than watching an order play out.
