Missile Resolution
Hit, miss, or intercepted — three branches, not one path.
THREE OUTCOMES

Closes within ~200 m with the target still alive → flat damage dealt, destroying the unit at 0 HP or below. Target gone before arrival, or timed out without closing → a miss; the missile simply vanishes, no side effects. Interception is a separate roll: a single random check against the interceptor's accuracy stat decides success or failure.
AREA STRIKES
Ground strikes and bombing runs resolve differently — every enemy unit within the blast radius (default ~5 km if the ordnance doesn't define its own) takes damage. If no enemy units are in range, it's logged as a miss.
WHAT AN INTERCEPT COSTS
On a successful intercept, both the incoming missile and the interceptor are destroyed and simply disappear — no residual effect at the intercept point. On a failed intercept, only the interceptor is lost — the incoming missile is completely unaffected and keeps flying at full speed and full odds.
